5 Steps to Eliminate Disorder in Your Wardrobe

‘Good order is the foundation of all great things.’ Edmund Burke

Are you organised? Do you find it easy creating a system where you can easily retrieve the right outfit/fashion accessory whenever you want to or do you thrive on the manic adrenaline rush triggered by running helter skelter as you rummage through your wardrobe trying to find the right handbag to go with that new sexy black evening gown?

I once used to be highly disorganised picking up different items to wear from different parts of my apartment. The penny finally dropped the day I arrived late at a job interview that offered the opportunity to travel the world and earn a six figure salary.

The consequences for being disorganised can sometimes be financially disastrous, emotionally overwhelming and physically exhausting. As you build your handbag collection, it pays to have a system in place to ensure that you can easily identify and retrieve the handbag you desire for a specific event.

The following tips should help you organise your growing designer handbag collection.

1. Think about organising your handbag according to colour and size. You could have all your black bags in one section and arrange them according to size. You could have them in an ascending order with the smaller bags to the left and the bigger ones to the right.

2. Everyone has a ’secret weapon’ in their collection and I’m sure you do to. Those set of designer handbags that always attract the most attention and get unlimited complements when you’re at a party or event. Maybe your secret weapon is a Gucci, Fendi, Burberry, Prada or Jimmy Choo designer handbag. These designer bags you could keep separate from the rest. This means they are easily accessible when you want them.

3. If space isn’t on your side and your handbag collection is still growing, you could actually use a coat stand. You could purchase one with a lot of ‘branches’. Have your ’secret weapon’ handbags at the top and the luxury handbags you use more often towards the bottom.

4. You could sort your authentic designer handbags according to designers. All Gucci handbags in one section, all Burberry bags in another and your beautiful Fendi handbags in yet another section.

5. When you have an enormous designer handbag collection but are without a personal stylist then this is what I would advise. You could place specific designer handbags and shoes together. I mean those award-winning combinations that attract all the envy and attention wherever you go.

The list above is by no way exhaustive but I hope it sets you on the path towards thinking about how you can better organise your handbag collection to give you more joy when dressing up, a wonderful display to show your friends and more time to take spend looking more beautiful.

Have a wonderful day.

Burberry Handbags - 150 Years Old And Still Going Strong

Burberry Handbags - 150 Years Old And Still Going Strong
By []Gregg Hall

For some reason, no one talks much about clothes inventions. Inventors do not just create gadgets, but are clothes innovators as well.

Burberry is one of the most recognized fashion brands. The Burberry brand was founded in 1856 by Thomas, a draper's aide, who opened his first store in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. By the late 1800s, Thomas' business was well established, and he had become known for some of his clothing inventions. Thomas had invented a new material he called Gabardine, which was breathable, tear proof, and waterproof. He later created the trench coat, which became very popular amongst the soldiers fighting in the Boer War in Africa. Burberry is presently one of the most recognized names in luxury clothes.

Your Gucci Handbag Tells the World You Have Good Fashion Sense

Your Gucci Handbag Tells the World You Have Good Fashion Sense
By []Scott Nichols

For many women, there is no question about it. Ownership of a Gucci handbag is the ultimate sign of chic. Anyone carrying a Gucci handbag is a walking billboard that screams, "I Have Good Taste!"

Gucci Handbags: Brand History

Not many know, though, that the world-renowned Gucci brand name has humble beginnings. Founded in the 1920s by Guccio Gucci, the enterprise began as a maker of horse saddles and other leather goods in Florence, Italy. Guccio, the son of a merchant from northern Italy, hired the world's finest draftsmen and earned a reputation for high quality early on.

Gucci established a shop in Rome, Italy in 1938, and, in 1947, originated the line of Gucci handbags with bamboo handles, which remains popular to this day. The concept for the trademark striped webbing used on Gucci products, which were derived from horse saddles, was developed by Guccio Gucci in the 1950s. Of Guccio Gucci’s six children, four were sons who played significant roles in the Gucci company. When Guccio Guccie died in 1953, they established boutiques in New York, London and Paris. The House of Gucci first gained prominence in the 1960s.

The Celebrity Status of Gucci Handbags

Quality products made by Gucci are, of course, not confined to Gucci handbags. The company has earned a sterling reputation for such other fine accessories as watches and perfumes. With such glamorous patrons as actresses Elizabeth Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow, the brand name has grown its own fan base of women who see themselves as discriminating in taste. The Gucci explosion of the 60s and 70s was the height of the brand’s manufacturing expansion.

Today, more Gucci handbags are clutched by the well-heeled in the streets of urban fashion centers the world over than any other brand name of the same product category (luxury handbags). Women in Paris, Tokyo, London, New York, Athens, Los Angeles, Berlin, Chicago, Venice, Amsterdam, Rome, Bonn and other fashion centers in the world prefer to sport Gucci handbags. These women’s reasons for doing so are many, but not least of them is the quality and prestige associated with the Gucci name.
